Yield to Cable Trucks

7/19/11

While driving, we were all taught to pull to the side of the road at the sight of a fire truck, ambulance or police car with their lights flashing.  This is common protocol.  What is unclear, however, is what to do when you see a cable truck with its flashing strobe light illuminated.  Are we to pull to the side of the road and let the cable truck pass us knowing that someone likely took the day off work to wait for the cable guy to show up between the hours of 10am and 4pm?  I don’t want to be the person who makes someone have to wait to have their HBO activated.
